In Bariloche you will be enjoying a unique and privileged nature area. Surrounded by lakes, forests and mountains, in the core of the National Park Nahuel Huapi, the oldest in the country, Bariloche offers a huge variety of outdoor activities and adventures for all tastes.
A range of modalities of kayaking and rafting with several degrees of difficulties is an excellent option for rowing in our rivers and lakes. You can choose whether to take a whole day or half day excursion. Standup paddleboarding, wakeboard, windsurf and kite surf are other sports to practice in summer. If you´d rather go to beautiful spots and hidden places next to our lakes, without much effort, you should do some tour by (sail) boat. And if you love fly-fishing, you are in the perfect place to do it, because Bariloche is world-wide renowned.
If you love the mountains, you can choose between a huge amount of activities: among other there are hiking, rock- and ice-climbing, paragliding, downhill and mountain biking, horse-riding, whether you are beginners or already experts. Moreover, Bariloche has a great network of mountain shelters, where you can stay for a night and admire our open and starlit skies.
And… If you are thinking about visiting Bariloche in winter, you will see the Cerro Catedral under a white blanket of snow. It offers a 600ha ski region where you can elevate by 36 ski lifts and practice all different kinds of winter sport. The biggest and most important ski region of south America is located just 40 minutes from the city centre and from our school! That´s why in 2012 Bariloche was declared: “National Capital of adventure tourism”.
