One of the most entertaining and sought-after activities on offer for students at Academia Bariloche is our movie night where we show argentine and other Hispanic movies at the school.
We always start with a general introduction to the story, its importance and the historic setting and end with a talk or debate. The movie itself and our presentation of actors and directors are usually good starting points for lively discussions among students.
The movie showing and its interpretation are a good excuse to give our students insights into our culture on the basis of authentic materials. It is also quite motivating for students to train their listening comprehension and communication skills.
We also have movies on loan at the reception so that students can take “home” a DVD overnight. Most movies are in Spanish with English subtitles.
